On Weekends We Brunch #BdayEdition

Hello!DSC03465

This past week it was my roommate Jessica’s birthday! While her birthday was actually last Wednesday, it was decided that official celebrations would take place over the weekend (because what fun is a birthday if not celebrated on a weekend?). To celebrate, we went to brunch on Saturday to George’s at Sunset in Coral Gables, Miami.

As any Miami-ian knows, brunch is a very serious matter and no brunch happens without careful deliberation about deciding where to go. George’s won this round because it’s known for its party-like atmosphere on the weekends. Luckily, the music, the unlimited mimosas, and the food did not disappoint 🙂 .

Besides taking advantage of unlimited mimosas for $15, we also took advantage of the weather (which was perfect). For my brunch outfit, I went with traditional brunch colors: lighter tones. The highlight of my outfit are  my knee-high suede lace up Jeffery Campbell heels; a pair of shoes that I manage to snatch 60% off during a Free People One Day Sale #success. From there, I went with white jean shorts and a beige knitted crop top. On top, I wore my new Lucky Brand cardigan that I recently bought at Marshall’s for $20 #anothersuccess #collegebudget.

And of course, the most important part of brunch, the food itself (although dressing up is a close second). Avoiding the all-time brunch dilemma, to go sweet (pancakes, waffles) or savory (eggs & potatoes), I went with pizza. But not just any pizza, a short rib BBQ pizza with gruyere and sautéed onions. Score? 1000 out of 10 🙂 .

All in all, was the birthday brunch a success at George’s? YES. The mimosas and pizza definitely warrant a return back to George’s, but there are so many other brunch spots in Miami to try! Where to next? Stay tuned to find out!
