Hi! I just found your blog because i might be interested in following an auxiliar programme next year. I was thinking about Malaga as well. Just wanted to know how you got into it, with which organization? And i was wondering how did you find an apartment in Malaga? Is that possible with A1 Spanish? Thanks a lot!
Also, goodluck with your studies in the US!

Hi Milou! Sorry for the late response (sometimes real comments get lost in spam). I applied for the program directly through the ministry of education (that way you don’t need to pay any extra fees for having another company ‘help’ you). Not sure if you saw my blog post about the program and applying: http://www.swatowski.com/how-i-ended-up-in-granada-spain/ ). It’s very easy to apply to – they accept you as long as you send in your application and all the necessary documents, and that you have a Bachelor’s degree. This program doesn’t require knowing Spanish and I actually have a few friends that came here with zero Spanish skills. Finding an apartment was not particularly hard – there are many university students that look for housing in Malaga, so there are several different websites and FB pages that post available rooms. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi! I actually established my NIE in Granada (where I worked the first year) and since I am an EU citizen, I didn’t have to reapply for my NIE. And yes, I got paid on time both years that I worked in the program!
