New year, new me. JK, actually a me that is under continuous improvement and change. While a new year is great for a fresh start or to try something new, I see it as a milestone. How much have you grown within the past year? What were your mistakes or challenges? What were your victories? As people, we grow and change everyday. With each passing year, we have more and more life experiences under our belt. Good or bad, the best thing we can do is learn from them to become a better person than we were yesterday. A fresh start can be any day – not just the New Years!
But one thing that not changing is my overwhelmingly black closet. Here, I’m going for an edgy look by pairing all black with my beige jacket from Guess. Its snakeskin texture adds a little more dimension to the outfit, especially since it stands out against the black. I combined it with a black suede top (from DKNY Jeans which I got for $12 from Marshall’s!!! #steals #bargains #smartshopper) and a pair of ripped black jeans.
Trying something new this year with hoop earrings! I got these black ones from a friend for Christmas [who is a strong advocate of me wearing hoops]. My one reservation about hoops is that that one day, as I mindlessly run my fingers through my hair, I will accidentally catch onto my hoop and rip my ear in half. Thankfully, its been a day and so far so good #wishmeluck. Anyways, I thought these hoops would be a nice addition to my outfit – bold yet simple.
